Hi We've had our malinois since she was almost 5mon now she is almost 7mon, I feel she has only gotten slightly taller, The previous owners said her parents were small but I feel she is very tiny for 7 mon, what is average? Do they still get taller past 7 months or do they just fill out? Could her growth be stunted? What would cause that? Can we do anything to help her grow more?

the best height I can get with her staying semi still is about 18 inches at the withers, she is about 40lb, a tad chubby actually, but its her height that concerns me, seems to not be getting much taller and everyone says how tiny she is.

How much did she weigh when you got her? If you double that, you'll get her adult weight. Then, if I'm not mistake, dwarfism doesn't make them fatter than they are taller. They should be somewhat proportionate.
My girl was 19 inches at 7 months old, and she's now 21 inches at 16 months. She weighed around 40 pounds at 7 months, and now weighs about 52. I'm not saying your dog will get as big as River, I'm just giving you a comparison.
ok thx I feel a lot better now, she was about 30lb when we got her...Im fine if shes on the smaller side, I prefer it, but I was just worried she wasn't growing properly, shes due for a checkup anyway to get microchipped so I could ask the vet then, he saw her when we first got her and had her in for her pre screen for pet ins.
