I also wanted to add this comment I made in a post a couple of years ago ... this is about the little old guy who was so suspicious of raw chicken at first:
"My small senior still gets a glazed look in his eyes, gazing into the middle distance, when he is methodically crunch-crunching through his chicken backs. The others inhale theirs, but he enjoys every single crunch. Like dark chocolate.
My daughter says his RMB look is just like her caviar look."
Not sure where you are located and have access to some of the raw dog food suppliers, but green tripe (not bleached, white tripe) will get my dogs to eat anything. It stinks! But dogs love it. They also sell canned varieties at the pet store.
Good luck with getting him switched! My dogs all love raw and do wonderfully on it.
I ordered 40 lb of chicken backs today but they won't be in til Wed morning. That will give me a chance to get a couple cans of good food to make some gravy to go over them.

Good deal!
I'd peel off the skin from the first couple, until you see the poops.
And don't worry .... I've never met a dog who didn't end up loving the raw diet. :-) It even seems sometimes as if the most suspicious ones end up the biggest fans. Like my little senior, who vibrates while the bowls are being prepared.
I am in possession of 40 lbs of backs. Unfortunately they are Amick Farm chicken which we try to stay away from, but this first box is ok. I'll find another brand next time. Also have two cans of grain free turkey stew by Lotus. They did not have Dogswell.
I am waiting til tomorrow to start. He was sniffing some grass today in town and picked up little tiny chicken bones. He outed them, but then went Ack! Once so I was afraid he may have swallowed one. We hurried up the street to the hotdog vendor and I quickly fed him a bun. Called the vet and they said if they were very small it should be ok. They were small enough I did not see them in the grass but that doesnt mean they arent dangerous. Who throws out chicken bones in a dog mecca like that area is? Geez. It's totally my fault for not seeing them.
