Good timing, I was going to post a follow up to Ambers weird behavior, she is having another lyme flare. Sadly it seems to be affecting her back or hips. Lyme is a VERY bad disease!

Thanks Connie, I'm going to have her back and hips xrayed after the holidays and see where she is there. Happily it does not seem to be affecting her kidneys she is getting a daily NSAID and does feel better, playing fetch again. In my region Lyme is pretty common, they estimate 1/3 dogs has it, and I suspect the incidence may be higher now. Because her breeder never treated it as a baby I'm just hoping she doesn't end up with the same problems my last dog had. At least she did not have RMSF too.

I'm sure you do blood re-checks for the NSAID protocol, too.
This is a pretty good overview (IMO) for folks who might be reading this thread and worrying about what this is, etc. It's a good thing for us all to know something about. http://www.2ndchance.info/lyme.htm
That is an interesting article. My experience with Lyme positive dogs and horses is a tiny bit different.
Yes, I keep a pretty good watch of her and medicines, I'd prefer not to have her on an NSAID but that's what she needs right now, and its definitely helping.

I'm fully with you about NSAIDs.
Sometimes it's what we need to give. We need to be educated, as I know you are, about minimizing the dangers and checking bloodwork regularly (as well as knowing all the "red alert" symptoms).
I've had more than one dog who just had to be on an NSAID for her to have quality of life.
