Occassionaly when I walk out of the patio door I'm greeted by my 5 yr. old male GSD digging his muzzel into my belly button unless I raise my knee or get his attention before I come out.
I've never felt any teeth, nor does he growl just a muzzle in my stomach and he bounce off. Usually he circles to smell my hands for treats. Is this something I should be concern with? Has anyone else expereince this type of behavior?
Now I'm starting to think that this is something that GSD do, my visiting female pup, will run at me and jump snaping at my dangling arm, she never bites me but but she will do that once maybe twice, until I acknowledge her with a pat on her side or a command. Its kinda cute but could it be something else.
I might be wrong, it could be a coupe? Am I lossing my Alpha status?
Stop putting food in your belly button and that will eliminate the problem!
John so are you saying this is common? And there is no reason to be alarmed. This more like a muzzle butt then smelling for something, then he circles to smell for treats in the hand.
The female Rottie does the hand smelling thing also.
Devecihol - This is more a muzzle/mouth to stomach thing rather the wet nose in the genital or stomach thing. I'd stop that immediately too close to family jewles there.
No Don, I was just kidding with you! Occasionally my dogs nudge me too sometimes but I usually don't think anything about it.
