The 5 month old GSD pup I have been "babysitting" has an amazingly big deep bark for a puppy. He has been with my 2 year old who is well-known for his mega bark(ahem....ask the neighbors!!) since he was 9 weeks. He sounds like a full grown dog already. Just wondering??

Probably just the individual dog's bark and coincidence. I think it would be more about the physical makeup of the dog's vocal cords. Uneducated answer though. old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks

I've just never seen/noticed it in my many yrs of multiple dog households. I recall listening to the radio when it was announced that Elvis died. I believed that then but I've seen him multiple time since. old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks
