We are the owners of an 8 month old GSD, Tiny. She is a great dog and have just ordered the Basic Training and Obedience Tape. However, at this time when ever the kids leave for school she barks and runs from window to window. I have crated her but she whines and barks when she gets out. Any ideas? The children always return home and she knows this as she waits at the door for them.

Just keep doing what you are doing, crate her when she is out of control. The window thing unless she is knocking things over I wouldn't worry about it.
But if you wanted to stop this call her to you pat her calming "tell her it will be ok", give her a treat and tell her "good girl".
The whining while crated roll in a treat fill kong
and calmly tell her "its ok". This should occupy her time. You are just re-directing her attention on something else.
She sounds like a good pup. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I'll bet that when the kids are at home. Barking gets attention. If so dont. If she dog is barking tell the kids to ignore her untill she sops. But at that point be sure you praise her. Sounds like a well bonded pup
