Rearing scared my Uncle and Aunt is this a concern? Recently I had some family visitors and they saw my dogs outside and they wanted to pet them. I usually don't let strangers pet my dogs but this was my Uncle and Aunt, who are dog people.
I went outside to leash them, of course they (the dogs were happy) excited. They ran in a circles and took off across the yard. Came back full charge and rear up on their hind legs jumping and pawing at the air, (mind you they never touched be except for an occassional bump on the leg) Mulan she would jump up head high. I'm 6'3" Ok I leash and sit them, but now Unc and Auntie didn't want to pet them telling me they were too wild, and too aggressive.

This is the same Unlce that raises White Am/Canadain Shepherd, suring he gets the same antics from his stud dog? Do I have a problem, I personally like see this energy knowing if I wanted I could turn it off with a "Sit" command. It kinda makes me feel loved??

He raises what amounts to a different breed (Swiss white shepherd), only passes them off as GSDs and wonders why yours act different.

Laruen he is my Mother's Brother so I can't detach or disown him just because he is riding a fade to makes some bucks (breeding White Am Shepherds).
They just wanted to pet them. I wasn't taking any advice from him, just wondering what all the fuse was about.
He did advise that that the general public is impressed with paper work he sales his with AKC and CKC or CKA registry. I thought that was weird a little research would show that, the CKA will register anything. I might not have the right acronmy its CK?, something.
So you don't see anything wrong with their actions? Neither did I.
If a Jack Russle or a Minature Pinicher acted like that, they would think it was cute or impressive.
Frankly, I would be praising the dogs like there was no tomorrow for not jumping up on the people. The relatives aren't used to being around GSDs and don't know the breed, despite what they may think. The comment about having papers to impress the public (also known having dogs that couldn't hold their own without some paper) only shows their lack of concern/knowledge (depends on their situation).
I won't hold it against you since you can't choose your relatives .
CKC is two different orgs.
Canadian kennel club - this is the legit one, only registers Canadian dogs.
Continental kennel club - these papers are useless for anything but filling up your file cabinent and draining your wallet. Rare breeds are registered with ARBA or sometimes the UKC, leaving no need for the CKC and their papers for any dog policy.
"If other kennel club papers are not available, the dog owner must provide two witnesses who can verify the accuracy and truthfulness of the information listed on the application. If any of the information listed on the application is challenged, the dog owner agrees to bring forth said witnesses according to current CKC guidelines."

Lauren - What kind of drive have you seen in the white Shepherd most believe that they are beautiful dogs. Are they trainable to work at any level?
I totally agree with what you said about the CKC, this trainer stated he could get my dog registred for $25 after fillig out the forms. He was doing the same for his breed of miniture pit bulls?? He stated there is a martket for them. Just invent a pedigree, I guess!!
My Uncles dog walks around the farm like he is cock of the walk, nobody is allowed to feed or touch him, unless under my Uncle supervision. I can see why this dog is a money maker for him.
The dog seems to have a mild disposition looks/seems smart and strong but more Labbish then GSD, which is not bad just different. Kinda reminds you of the action hero that has a stand in do the sunts while he getting makeup applied, for next scene.
I was watching a show that talked about SchH training the dogs seem under control and full of energy. Thats what you should expect and want out of a GSD or any dog of this type. I was impressed with the walking-handler and on command the dog does a immeadiate down, my GSD will do this (not as quickly)but the Rottie won't unless you turn and face her and thats messes up the rountine. Hard headed bitch, she wants to follow, and smell your hand thinking that there is a treat in this heel somewhere wasn't it. Treart training I don't know some times.
