One last question, on the note of anxiety, when we are throwing her toy into the water, she whines, vibrates and sometimes yelps. She will if its a stick, chew madly at it sometimes, shredding it, I can grab it fine, shes not possessive, she will growl if another dog tries to grab it out of her mouth but I try to keep them away so they don't bug her. Is this anxiety? Shes seems extremely intense about it and will pull whining toward the water. I cant imagine not being able to do this though, its a huge energy drain. When she was in heat we would kayack or boat her out to a secret island to throw the toy endlessly into the ocean and rip around the island, spoiled girl, anyway she could do it endlessly, she never wants to stop. If I don't tell her not to she tries to grab it out of my hand after we are done and has nailed my hand a couple times, no blood, but ow lol.
TO ME, IMHO, this sounds like pretty strong prey drive for the stick (or whatever toy that she will work for). This makes that stick an extremely valuable tool for training, as the dog will likely do anything you ask to acquire that stick. This is the drive that sport trainers are looking for.
JMO, but drive, not anxiety (or harmless, predictable anxiety caused by the drive). Even the guarding of the stick is an element of prey drive.

IMHO, yes, it's DRIVE The dog is just Anxious to get the object of her desire, so she's "wired" from an Adrenaline Rush !!!

Ok ill try that. Restraining her is like wrestling an orangutan. Gotta do it discreetly during cuddle time rather than when she knows somethings up.
LOL, I hear ya, Cat !!!
So in that case, I would then "Work SMARTER, NOT Harder" by doing this:
Either mix the drops into a small Meatball or squirt them on a little piece of absorbent Bread, and feed that to her as a TREAT

ah that sounds better, she gets bread from the baker everytime we go by so that sounds a lot simpler
Ok good to know about the drive, she seems to love it so much, nothing else exists if I have her toy, could care less about other dogs, anyone or anything. I need to glue it to my clothes so I can have it on me for training lol. I don't know how I will keep her out of the water in the winter, I already have to time out so she can regain herself, she would literally swim to exhaustion or hypothermia I think, crazy mutt!

Give her Anti-Freeze to drink ( NO, DON'T !!! IT'S POISON) -- Teach her to tow you around on skis in the Winter ???

ah we rarely get snow here though I wonder how cold is too cold for a dog. I mean labs retrieve from water in the winter....mmm...
we will probably take her hiking/snow shoeing/ cross country skiing up in the mountains during the winter. but nothing seems to do it for her like retrieving from the water. My last dogs never did that and I always wanted a dog who would so its kinda awesome!

My australian cattle dog does very well in the weather around here where it usually hovers around -15 during the day 5 months out of the year. Nothing tires him out like 30 minutes of fetch with some obedience thrown in while in 2-3 feet of snow. As for your original question, I try to dabble in doggy daycare as much as I can. However despite training dogs for 7 years a 20 year old with lots of tattoos doesn't seem to make people feel comfortable with leaving their dogs with me.
