My female might give a nanosecond's thought but no more. My male would not give any consideration at all to the odd presentation. It's a HOT DOG! YUMMY! It could appear out of thin air in front of his face and I don't think he would even wonder where it came from.
Hootie would sit and wait politely for someone to kindly break it into mouth size pieces befitting a genteel old duffer, Bon and Sugar would fall over each other to get to it first, and Kaiser would go all wang eyed and run away
In my house, I believe that Duke would bark and immediately attempt to eat it. Things that float make him want to eat them even if they are not hot dog flavored.
I'm going to say Chance would stare at it like it was a piece of crazy on a string and then cuss it out. He does not eat suspicious things.
