due to my impeccable timing and coordination and general mastery of marker training I have (as planned) got my pup to do a 180 spin on the recall and fly in backwards between my legs precisely with dogs tip of the shoulder level with my leg while she eagerly awaits the next command.
what really happened;
while awkwardly frikkin around and confusing my dog with consistently inconsistent timing of the mark/release while standing in a half-ass posture I have erroneously trained my pup to do something like a reverse place on the recall which is nothing I was intending or trying to achieve.
as unsuspecting witnesses from the comp obed crowd have seen it and before I could say stupid dog she can do it right at home, they all went "wow what a cool trick how did you teach that", I just shrugged and said, oh it takes a bit of practice....
as people think it looks so clever and neat I want to make it an actual command, as if I planned it.
how would you cue it with a hand signal or more generally how would you formalise it so as not to confuse it with a flip finish which I want to still maintain. the two exercises are very similar in their initial execution and I do not want to confuse the dog but want both on command.
