Duke is having some issues hitting the very large bowl he's dropping the toys in sometimes because he'll spit it out and it'll fly more or less wide (it's hard not to laugh when it rolls across the room) we're at the point where I now only give food rewards for successful drops in the bowl but I am still jackpotting those, though smaller jackpots. I currently give a bridge marker for the initial pickup and use a negative marker if he doesn't drop it in the right place. Initially I was rewarding on any contact with the toy, then the pick up, then worked really slowly to get him to understand that it needs to go in the bowl for the jackpots and he does get them in there pretty quickly now but has enough misses that he gets frustrated a bit (he chuffs and whines when I give the negative marker) Still wants to keep playing the game though, he'll dump the toys out when we're done so we can start over!
I am also attempting to add a few actual dog toys though he's showing a preference for the baby's bath toys that I used to start this progress, any suggestions on smoothing in some variety?
Concerning the barking; I've been very careful to mark as she comes through my legs and before she starts barking.
If she starts barking after she gets her reward, I've been turning my back and ignoring her (which she hates). I wasn't sure if I should use a negative marker in case she thought the leg weave part was what I was saying was wrong.
