My husband is retiring, thanks be to God. We are going to do some traveling this winter to warmer climes. The Pinker will go along, but not the English Shepherd.
Our hired man is no good with Lad. We don't want to leave him with this guy. THe man's timing is dreadful, he screams , ignores good behavior etc. etc. He is no good with cows either, but, well, they are cows.
Does anyone on here know of a reliable place? Or a person in the upper midwest who'd like to be paid to care for and work with a big nice dog for a month ?

I've used rover.com to find a 2-week pet-sitter for my father's elderly diabetic terrier when dad went on vacation. It worked out well.
Just put in your zip code and it'll show you people willing to sit (your home or theirs) and what they charge. You can meet them first to make sure you like them--since it's matching you with somebody local. It's like "Angie's list" for dog sitters.
