New laptop, for me at least. The old Insperon finally bit the dust. And already I miss MS XP, and yes I know it was not supported and old, like me on occasion.
But the real problem is that I didn't back up stuff since November, and that has proven to be a real problem.
So, my tip of the day is to BACK UP YOUR FILES DAILY, preferably on an external drive, and even more redundantly if you can ill afford to lose your stuff.
My address book. I want my address book.
Going to try to recover the files. Can't boot the Insperon but the diagnostics indicate the rest of the stuff is OK. Sorry for the lapse into highly technical speak. But to me its all stuff.
If I was smarter than I normally demonstrate, I'd take the Insperon to Best Buy, buy a new laptop, buy a good external drive, and have their geek squad recover my files and set everything up. If I was smart

I pay for an automatic back-up service. It's worth the $$ since I had to pay a service to retrieve my data from a corrupted external hard drive. Tip #2, about once every 3-4 months I print out my address book.
