I got my second pup for the dog trainers school I'm in. It's a little American Bulldog pup. The breeder says she's 6 weeks but I just don't see it. I think she's 5 weeks. She's a feisty little thing. I've seen her dam's brother doing protection and the prey drive is definitely there. Her dam was about 60 lbs and the smaller athletic type so I'm hoping she takes after her. I've decided to call her Rogue. I have a feeling it's going to fit her.
She's currently the loudest pup here but she gets better everyday. It didn't help that Maverick was barking his head off with her and at her the first few nights. I bought a bark collar for him after trying several other approaches and things are much more peaceful now. If he can't bark he doesn't get all worked up. My roommates were also telling me that the little pups voice doesn't really carry through the walls but Maverick's barking does.
I'll post pictures when I can. My internet connection here isn't the greatest.
We're doing eye contact work and as much exploring as she can handle at this point.
Maverick is 4 months old now and such a "needs to be kept busy" dog. I can't imagine him working well in the average pet home.
The little AmBull pup has been nicknamed "the Fetus" by some members of my class. She really is a very young pup but Maverick went home with me at 5 weeks so I'm not worried by it.
I did my first tracking box with her today. She actually got a corner cleaned of food pretty well before she got distracted by her collar being itchy. Once she was done itching she just sort of forgot that food was on the ground. At her age I'm fine with that.
