I think everyone needs to read them and share them with friends. They were written by a friend of mine - Karen Thompson. They chronicle her 19 month battle with a TBD and her ultimate loss of her beautiful Golden Kirby. It devastated all who knew him when Kirby passed. We really needed yet another one. Note that it cites others, too: QUOTE: The Heartland virus probably is related to a life-threatening virus recently discovered in China called severe fever with thrombocytopenia, also suspected to come from ticks. A new bacterial tick-borne illness related to Lyme disease was reported earlier this year in patients in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. And about 1,500 people in the U.S. have become allergic to red meat after being bitten by ticks since 2008.
