At this point my sole, online source of solid info is leerburg. Do you guys recommend any other youtube channels that cover working dog training, marker training, etc.
Between the DVDs you can buy here, the videos provided throughout the posts in this forum, and the various free e-articles that Ed and Cindy have provided, I can't imagine any greater source for training information than this website. Even the professional dog trainers and handlers we used or become acquainted with in training our dog all indicated they use Leerburg and Michael Ellis as their primary source of training materials. Guess I just got lucky and hit the jackpot finding them and this site.
It never hurts to get multiple angles on training and techniques. Even within the info available on this site, there are multiple methods that you can expose yourself to. You can study Flinks, Bellon, Balabanov, Ellis, and many newer trainers and gurus in multiple disciplines.
You can find all of this info on youtube, as well. You simply have to do searches for the type of info you want. Type in dog training, and see how many results you get. What I would be cautious of in terms of channels is that there is no certification process on youtube. Anyone can call himself a trainer and create a channel, and you have no way of verifying his background. If you stick to proven websites, avenues, and trainers, chances are you will waste less of your own time and your dog will learn more quickly and surely.
If you're the type of person who is willing to experiment and try everything that sounds like a good idea, youtube is an excellent venue. Bear in mind, however, that your dog may be languishing while you try to figure out how the hell you want to train him.
I mainly use all resources here but after purchasing 4 DVDs I watching just about all their free videos I am just looking to find different takes on same subjects. For example marker training or what not. Also I find watching others train just good entertainment and educational. Thanks guys.
How right you are, Greg! In the region, where I live in Brazil, there are no professionals, no courses, nothing. And in the internet I had wasted a lot of time searching for something reasonable. When I finally found Leerburg I too thought to have hit the jackpot!

Thanks for the great tips, Duane. I've looked at Flinks and found it great! But for the time being I'll stay with Leerburg. I love experimenting, but as I don't have very much experience I'd invest to much time reading and watching instead of training with my dogs.

IMO Flinks is good, Balibanov is good, Ellis is light yrs ahead of both for methods and also descriptions of how and why.
The more you understand training methods you will eventually learn what to take from each one but a beginning trainer should be consistent with one method only or you and the dog both will become confused.
Leerburg has a fantastic choice of videos and the Ellis ones or at the top of my need to watch list.
Bob, you're perfectly right. During my search in the internet I came across so many different sites, among others also good ones (as far as can judge). For someone with little experience it can be quite confusing. I have various DVDs of Michael and Ed and took courses from Mark and Forrest. They are all wonderful, give me enough stimulation and work with 4 dogs and help me apart from other things to be more consistent. It is the first time since I have dogs, that I am fully convinced.
