As many of you know my little TFT, Gracie, lives with a new owner in Oregon because she had severe health problems and I was unable to afford the cost of caring for Gracie.
Gracie's owner called us early yesterday morning to tell us Gracie was back in the hospital with what her vet thinks may be a form of canine leukemia brought on primarily due to all she's been through.
Gracie's owner is a very private person so I'll just call her "Mary" (not her real name). Mary is willing and abke ti do whatever it takes to help Gracie. She is willing to take her anywhere she needs to or fly a doctor in to her home town in Oregon (her vet is onboard with this).
If anyone knows of a great diagnonostician please let me know and I'll pass the information on.

I have no advice, Elaine, only prayers for Gracie, yourself and "Mary" -- What wonderful LOVE going above & beyond the Call of Duty to help such a precious little dog ... I fell head-over-heels for Gracie's photo the very 1st time I saw it, and she has held special spot in my heart ever since!
At a veterinary college, there is all the instrumentation in the world and the diagnostic lab is on site, limiting waiting for blood and tissue sample results.
If for some reason you are not thrilled with the veterinarian assigned to your pet you can certainly request another.
There is the benefit of young fire-balls and the old senior vets who have seen it all. And should your pet have to stay over for treatment, the vet students are being graded on how well they attend to your dog--they will do their very best, and there are lots of them, lots of hands to provide care.
She's promised us to send some as soon as she can. As you can imagine she's been very busy lately. As soon as she sends any to us I'll be sure and post some.

Thanks, we're really pulling for Gracie at our house, Elaine
