Yes, figuring out makes training interesting. But it can also make or keep it dangerous in some cases. (As I wrote about on the thread "Random Rewards" about Slippies aggressions.) Not a piece of cake at all

Yes I will certainly do this. I am glad, Slippie has become much calmer within the last two years towards the other dogs. I guess it is no coincidence, for it was about then when I met Leerburg, had the Webboard, DVDs and took various courses. My way of training has become better and the dogs participate much more lively, I have a much better relationship. Though dog training is still not my strong suit!

I do think it's a piece of cake but every dog is different no matter how long or how many someone has trained.
Figuring out what makes the individual dog respond to a given stimulus is what keeps it interesting.
Dogs are no more cookie cutter in training then kids are.
You can follow a given set of guide lines for training but it's the individual personalities and reactions that determine how far you can go before making training adjustments for that individual dog.
Of course adjusting training based on OUR individual personalities also.
I've stolen a few of those pearls, thank's God!
And it helps me each day to see my way much more clear, which unfortunately doesn't mean without errors, but helps such a lot to be aware of the good direction.
That's why I'm so awfully glad to have the exchange with you all!
