That's it! All of them will have a spot, Bob, and I'm quite certain Trooper will never be Thunder. All are individuals. Thank's God they're not all the same. Thunder as you described him was surely a special dog, but Trooper also is especial in his way. Exactly how you feel about you're brothers and sisters. And grand kids! And perhaps soon grand grand kids!

I think that a certain dog comes into our lives when we NEED that dog. For example, the Universe had many lessons to teach me when I was young, and it chose Sam to teach me those lessons.
When I was older, and going through some problems, the Universe gave me Brandi - another dog that grabbed a piece of my heart and simply claimed it as hers.
After Brandi left me, Caterina entered my life. Caterina is my current soulmate.
I owe every dog that has ever shared my space SOOO much that I can't even explain. I also owe much to some canines that have never lived with me... And one, Faith, that I never even got to meet in person.
They all have taught me lessons, and collectively, they have made me who I am. My soul will forever be grateful to all - past, present, and future...

(Yes, Candi, tears, tears, tears.. I blame it on allergies... )
Yes, Kelly, all animals teach us lessons if we observe them and listen to them. I had it throughout a lifetime, but "only" with cats. Only now with dogs. The animals are so different, but in our heart this differency counts.
They al make such a great change in our lifes. We are changing with them. It is a miraculous thing. Now with dogs, everithing is more complicated, but I can't describe how they changed me. Everyone who reacted to this thread told the same thing in his own words and out of his own sight.
So amazing to read those stories. Some make me laugh, smile, cry, sad, sentimental, hopeful or all together. But they're all worth so much reading them.
Go on guys, tell about your relationship with dogs or other animals!
