IMHO I actually don't believe the dogs want to please us. The want to have fun, want to be with us, have our attention. Well we can't see into their heads However it maybe, I'm sure you're doing great, Melissa.

Yet they want to repeat a behavior that brings praise and petting. You can tell they way their eyes light up and they (doggy) smile. Sure they are not thinking Hey I have to please this guy.
