Looking for some more guidance on playing tug. Our 6 mo. old GSD, Greta, and I have just started the concept of 'out'. She has just finished teething so we are returning to learning this game together.
How do I gauge how strongly to pull and move her around on the tug? I see two or three 6 mo. old dogs on the ME tug video but they seem so much bigger than Greta is; she's around 50# at this point. I'm worried (probably unnecessarily) about hurting her. If I pull enough to lift her front paws off the ground a few inches is that too much? too little?
I'm trying to be careful to keep the tug low like Mr. Ellis notes so as not to put too much pressure on her neck/spine and pull away from her parallel to the line of her nose.
I've been posting a lot lately so thank you very, very much to those folks who have volunteered some comments and guidance!
