Just curious whether anyone has put in artificial turf and how your dog(s) / puppy reacted to it.
How easy is it to keep clean / sanitized?
Did you get the kind with the rubber granules?
Did your dog/puppy try to eat it (grass or granules)?
It's becoming more popular in our area- might be something for us to consider as we reno our back yard. We are in drought restrictions a good portion of the year now.
wow, thanks Connie, these are great references! I really appreciate the housebreaking bible blog / post ... I had no idea it took so much water to keep it clean.
Might be a good fit if you teach / have taught your dogs to use a certain area?

We put it on the side of our house last year when all we had was a little puppy - it was our dog run area, and the puppy hated the gravel so we tried the artificial turf. We got a really good quality one and were super excited because the puppy was now happily peeing and pooping outside. Until... after only 2 weeks it smelled SO horrible we couldn't even stand to be out there next to it! And that was with using a good deodorizer twice a week, AND it was such a small amount of pee since we're talking a 4 month old puppy! We had to rip it out - the smell was coming in the house every time the windows were open and a breeze came up!
