When out walking off lead my dog's have always had a preference for walking on one side or the other in spite of teaching them all to heel on my left.
When left to their on decision those "left handed" dogs would still put me on their left.
As with humans most chose to have me on their right but that was never a big deal for me because a "heel" of "fuss" command for competition was never questioned.
That's interesting! I will try this out too. Very curious if they have a preference for one side. I taught them to do all exercises on the left as well as on the right, also heeling.

I did try several times. Bruxinha really seems to be right handed. Well, it could still be acidental but in comparison with the others I have the impression she is. Will have to make more researches.

That's what Bruxinha does. When we practice a formal heeling she follows the commands "Heel!" (left) and "Close!" (right).
When we just walk and there is a wall or other obstacle on the right side, then she tries to squeeze in. She tries to puff me away and if it doesn't work, she squeezes between my legs.

I'm relieved. I already thought it might be a critical sign if Slippie has her mouth so often closed while the others have it mostly open often with the tongue hanging out. But if I compare with the whole body language - as far as I can judge - she is very relaxed. So it is just an individual behavior of her. Good to know. Thank you both.
