I want to thank you all for your kind words for my girl. With this coming so soon after losing my boy to the same affliction, this has taken my legs from under me, and having you all here means so much to me, I can't overstate how much I appreciate your friendship and support.
Dear Tracy. Just watched your pictures. So heart breakingly sweet. They show you have/had a strong bond with all of your dogsincluding with Sugar you've lost Keep that bond inside of you. I wish you lots of strength and keeping that strong relationship in your heart. It will never over with animal you love so much.

Even though, you knew what you were looking at, I think it's a good time to share this video again..
It's an Akita in the middle stages of bloat. For anyone that's never seen it before, study the signs. Quick action is the only thing that can possibly save a dog from bloat - and even then, it's touch and go.
I agree that this video should always be shared. As Kelly said, the dog in the video survived -- the voice-over was added later, and certainly not while the bloat was happening.
Tracey, after all these years on Leerburg, I feel that I know your pack (and many others), and my heart aches with yours. I'm so sorry.
Thank you Connie, I have always appreciated your friendship and support over the years, this board and the people on it are so kind, it means a lot to me.
Time offers consolation, for as the days pass, pain will gradually be softened. Memories will gradually displace the pain of loss, and bring smiles of gratitude.
In time all will be well.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate your condolences. My Pointers are very sedate in their old age, and so the house is awfully quintet without that Boerboel joy of life, she made me laugh everyday .
You are right of course, memories are of great comfort, and I am thankful for them.
