Since our train is still out, petland has offered free shipping. The food we have available up here, is Kirkland and an Inuk brand.
Harry is currently on blue buffalo large breed puppy, (have 3 bug bags) and I have a 30lb bag of Nutro in the closet.
So, when switching him to adult, I can buy honest kitchen to add to his food. But what would be a great quality dry food?
No, I do not want full raw, especially with his beard. I do want to add canned to his dry, eventually.
He has never been a great eater, and we had to switch him to morn/evening feedings, as at 3 feedings , he would skip the am, eat a few mouthful of the noon, and be starved by supper, but still never touch the breakfast in the am. He is a confusing boy, so I split it up and feed him am and pm, and now he eats every bite.
For training I have cut up rollover, and use that exclusively for marker training. That just started a few days ago, and he is doing well.
My main reason for asking is because Blue buffalo is recalled so much, I want him weaned off as soon as these dang 3 bags are done!
I've been feeding mine Merrick Grain Free for a long time. We rotate flavors so they don't get bored. Our senior dog gets a heaping spoon of plain non-fat greek yogurt on top in the morning and a half a can of the merrick canned food in the evening. Pup gets kibble + frozen yogurt in her kongs and a variety of training treats. It used to be made here in TX but not sure now that they've been bought out; might be time for us to re-evaluate. Would love to feed THK but just can't afford it full time. https://www.merrickpetcare.com/dogs/grain-free
