Although it's definitely not the same, I have to say I'm glad we have Greta. I think coming home to no dogs in the house would have been even harder.
God bless you & the family, Carolyn, including Greta -- Yes, I always arrange things so that I will NOT have to walk back into the House with no Dog in it ... Everyone grieves in their own way, of course, but I'm one who MUST have a DOG waiting for me to come home.

Yes, everyone mourns in his own way. I myself was never able to adopt a new cat, when one of them had passed away. I always had to wait until the worst part of grieving was over. Fortunately I had always more than one and so i concentrated on them but constantly was reminded of the deseased one. I was afraid I'd ask too much from a new one, because I probably would have compared with the one I was so much longing for. Everyone has to make the decision which is right for the personnal way of coping with such sad facts.
I too send you many hugs, Carolyn, I'm sure you'll be happy again and will keep the one you're longing for, for ever included in your pack.
