I too am not surprised. I recieve regularly from https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-recalls/ alerts. Unfortunately much too often. Recalls because of salmonelas, listerias, and coliform bacterias. What concerns the drug used for euthanasia is clear too. Lots of manufacturars use the meat of euthanized animals for the production of dog and cat food. Logical: this is much cheaper. The drug remains in the dead animal and can do serious harm to our pets
That's one reason why I don't use commercial food any more. Certainly exist responsible producers, but the consumer can't distinguish in time, which are the good or bad ones.

I think, they should not only be asked but obliged and checked. it doesn't help very much, if they make a recall after animals already have fallen ill or even died. It is certainly better than no recall, but ....!

They have developed a test for dog and cat. It has never been found in any food tested. Chemically euthanized animals of ANY species are not routinely used for pet food as they would be considered an adulterated good.
Very interesting. With that coming to light then the info was either incorrect or the dog food company got hold of some ingredients that is shouldn't have for whatever reason.
Hopefully more will come to light on this subject.
