More exercise, much more exercise. Swimming is great if you live anywhere not frigid, great on a young dogs joints and it is wearing....calories are burned keeping warm, and the dog has to think so as not to drown.
With a bitey mouthy pup, as owners and trainers, we act like a dominant calm dog, ignoring childish behavior.
At some point I think it's good to stand up and turn toward them, walk at them with a clear " knock it off " attitude. Not back them into a corner, or activate a fight response...but make it clear that this behavior is not longer cute in any way.
Thanks for all the advice. Keeping him on the leash while in the house did the trick. He's persistent, so it took about a week of corrections before he got the message. He can now hang around off leash and maintain focus on toys/puppy tug without treating us as the prey items.
It didn't diminish his drive at all so we are at a very happy place now.
