Anyone tried this LeashOff-GameOn DVD by Absolute Dogs?
Just curious, it keeps popping up in my Facebook feed. I am somewhat suspicious that it's "free" lol.
Always on the lookout for new relationship games that we could try no matter where they originate, though.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
eta: just to clarify I'm not planning on running out to my nearest park and losing my dog by going off-leash without 100% recall, lol. I'm sure we could do these in the yard, too.
I train everything off leash but only within my yard. Frankly I don't believe at all in a 100% reliable recall. Especially on walks you can't foresee if some time a high level distraction might turn up, which is too strong for the dog to resist.
Carolyn, you write your always looking for new relationship games. I've found one which two of my dogs love crazily. Teaching them how to play with Frisbees. I don't mean tossing far or very high. The dogs first had to learn that playing with Frisbees is really fun. Then catching them out of the air. The goal is to make them catch multiple Frisbees one after the other. They drop the one they have in their mouth in order to catch the next one, which is already thrown in the air. My dogs catch two, sometimes three in a row, but with enough training they can learn to catch many more. Great, great fun and really energy burning.
In the following link by Zak George you can see how it is done. Just skip the stupid ad which appears first.
