I love the GSDs and quickest learners I've ever worked with. It sound like you've got a great one for your daughter. Keep us informed on your adventures with Zuzu.
Ah, the joys of having a bright, curious puppy in the home, eager to learn and soak up all of the experiences that life has to offer. Having the opportunity to help shape that puppy into the great dog we know they can be is so rewarding. I'm envious! Of course, a big part of me remembers how much hard work is involved, too.
Certainly agree working with a wee dog is not much work but it is an exercise in revisiting and reminding myself of the need to exercise and practice patience.
My daughter has been around and working with GSDs for many years - since she could toddle about. It is easy to puppy sit because we are on the same wave length of how to grow with the puppy.

"I wouldn't touch that dog, son. He don't take to pettin." Hondo, played by John Wayne
Fantastic that your daughter is on the same wave length with you.
My kids, especially my son always make the comment "Where was motivational training when we were growing up?"
I will say that my "methods" for training has made leaps and bounds in the last 15 or so years with marker work and definitely more relaxing for me and the dogs.
In the early 80s I had a Nationally ranked AKC obedience competition Kerry Blue Terrier. I can only thank the heavens that it was a terrier because I was a bit heavy handed, "old school" with "The Koehler Method" back then. Tough dogs those terriers!
To this day I always have that "what if" in the back of my mind of what the possibilities would have been with the "new" method of marker training with a couple of dogs in particular.
Connie, I was a LB member even when they weren't really involved with marker work yet.
The Purely Positive folks had their go round and hopefully those PP folks will all keep move forward and learn balance.
LB got involved and today, by far, it's the best sight that looks for that "balanced" training method and I think Ed and Michael Ellis getting together has been a huge factor in that.
