I dont know what this falls under - fear aggression or just aggression. My fiance's dog has never liked me. The dog ran the show his entire life until I came into the picture. We tried pack leader training and it actually made the dog more aggressive, anyone know why this would happen? He literally was kenneled with limited exposure for 3 months. This dog seems to be very indifferent to people/dogs around him. From the beginning when I have pet this dog, he growled and has shown his teeth. one time when i pet him, he stood up growled and bared his teeth as I walked backwards.
We have had to separate him and his kennel is in the basement. Every time i walk downstairs, he growls at me. I ignore him.
When he sees me coming downstairs and he is out he will run to his kennel, go in and growls very aggressively. When my fiance goes to lock his kennel, the dog has bared his teeth and tries biting him. This is a regular occurrence and he gets so aggressive that his gums bleed from hitting the kennel, this does not phase this dog.
This weekend he was out of the home at my fiances parents and growled at his mom when went to pet him.
I forgot to mention this dog has bitten my finace twice and gets very aggressive with food. He growls loud and deep and shows his teeth. He is very food motivated.
We are at a loss and I dont know if this is dominance and aggression or fear aggression? Are there any video s that will help? this is our last ditch effort. We are considering putting the dog down. I don't feel safe with this dog and I have never experienced this before. My dog is a puddle.
