I'm doing drive, focus, and grip with my 9 month old malinois. I have been doing this since he was 8 weeks old and he is coming along very nicely I think. He does a quick and clean out, but I was wondering how some of you end your training session? After we are done we run to the kennel and then I'll hold out food to get him to give up the prey item (which he does NOT like to do) because I don't really like to say "out" when I'm not going to put him in drive again because we are all done training. Thanks for your ideas.
I taught me dogs that they have to "drop the sleeve" not "out" before they can get back into the kennel/crate/truck....
so I let them carry until it is "time to go"... they don't seem to have any stress or conflict about this.. they understand they have to do something before they can go home/get a drink/lay down....
