I'm in search of a Supervisor/Trainer school to attend in 2002. I'm interested in Vohne Liche Kennels and a few others and would like to hear opinions privately if needed. I'm not sure yet what the dept. is willing to spend and probably cannot be longer than two weeks. I'm presently the trainer and supervisor for our small two dog unit and trainer for a couple small departments but I'm needed to organize and expand on what we are doing. I'm not looking to sit in a classroom for two weeks either. I'm hoping to gain more knowledge of advanced detection work including passive alert training methods. Please send me your recommendations either privately or reply here if you like.
Thanks,
Mark Connolly
I just finished the full trainers course at Vohne Liche Kennels. They specialize in passive response dogs. I really don't think you'll find any place better. The course just changed after I finished and the full Detection/Patrol course is now 8 weeks. It can be divided into either an Imprinting Course(3 weeks working with green dogs), an Advanced Detection Course(2 weeks working with student handlers) or an Advanced Detection/Patrol Course(5 weeks working with student handlers). Be warned, you will work dogs!! different breeds sexes and temperments. If you are serious, this is the place to go!!
