They have an experimental breeding program for labradors and Malinois. Stewart Hilliard PhD is involved with at least the Malinois.
Keyword here is experimental, they don't know where it will lead. theyare using stock from Auburn Universities program for the labs and some of the Mals are from Northrhine-Westfalia's program.
It will be interesting to see how that turns out. Last time they tried that in cooperation with the Land Warfare Laboratory in Aberdeen, with Dr Castleberry. They actually turned out some good dogs, some a bit quirky, but they discarded the program due to cost restraints. Perhaps the times are better now.

Hello, The breeding program that I was talking about was german shepherds I was told by my instructor that they were bio-sensor dogs I had one in class she was a good kennel dog and when she was on leash and out of the kennel no one was getting anywhere near me. But I think that was because she was on her last handler,if a dog did not certifiy by the third class it was in they were done away with.I saw several other dogs like her at school and when I got overseas we had one in our unit. He was hell on four feet I never saw a fence that was to tall for him to climb over and you were not getting near his handler.
Those were the ones I was refering to in my earlier post. The breeding program was actually run by the Land Warfare Laboratory in Aberdeen MD. There were some very good dogs come out of there, the better ones toward the end of the program. I too was at Lackland in the early 70's as an Instructor.
