Writes, 'Ok,How about any clubs in the Western/North Washington area. This covers Ring Sch and any other "protection" sport there is."
Hello Lonny:
I can't help you with Schutzhund clubs or other "protection" sports, but I can tell you that there are several very active French Ringsport clubs in Western Washington.
There is a brand new Ringsport club in Seabeck (near Bremerton/Silverdale area) called Northwest Suitmen Ring Club - the contact person is Leslie or Rick Maples at lesmaples@yahoo.com. Rick Maples has trained 4 dogs to French Ring III (the highest level) and is also the only French Ringsport Judge in the USA.
There is another club called Western Washington Ring Trainers located in Yelm (between Tacoma/Lacey, Olympia area) and the contact for them would be me. Lesli Taylor or my husband Dean. LesMTaylor@aol.com. We've been an active club for 5 years now and I've been involved with French Ringsport almost since the beginning. We have people come from as far north as Snohomish and as far south as Oregon. We take anyone, novices are welcome. Just contact me and I'll let you know what days we train.
Another club in the Pacific Northwest is Washington Defense Dog Club. They just lost the founder of that club when he moved to Quebec, but his business partner has kept that club going and just moved to Puyallup and set up a new field. You can reach her at: act3656@msn.com and her name is Becky Antonson.
Down in the Vancouver, WA area is also a longtime club called Club du Euro Canine. Ron or Betsy Rieger is the contact there at: regrrrr@yahoo.com
I hope this information is helpful. You can find out more about the Ringsport clubs and contact people by going to the NARA (North American Ring Association) web site link below and clicking on "clubs".
