Just a brief comment in reply to Gerards criticism of the police who shot the PSD dog.You see alot of these sort of criticisms reagrding the use of firearms by police and they usually come from people who have never fired a weapon in their lives. Police and soldiers are trainned that once you begin firing your weapon you keep on firing until you are absoloutely sure youve stopped the target. Its not like you see in the movies were people or dogs get shot once and just drop dead. Sometimes they do and sometimes they keep on going. I shot a dog with a AK 47 round through the chest, he kept on running. Another time I hit one with a 12 gauge at close range, it slowed him down but it took another to finish the job. This issue was adressed by the inquiry after the brittish SAS assaulted the iranian embassy in London in the early 80s , a lot of people complained because the SAS troops shot the terrorists dozens of times and then shot them in the head some much they couldnt recognise them. Thats because they didnt want them to come back to life after playing possum. Same think happened in Peru recently. The cops did the right thing, once you start shooting you keep on firing until you empty the weapon or destroy the target.
