My 7 mo old mal was very hard on my two children when we first got her. She played very rough and often left marks on the kids when she play bit them. We scolded her for this behavior and now she seems to have learned not to do this most of the time. She still will put her mouth on them but very rarely will she actually bite. When they run she will run after them and swerve to miss them at the last second. She used to attack them. While I do not want to ever have a problem with her hurting the kids, she does love to play with them and they love to play with her. My question is, how much should I allow before I reprimand her. I don't want her to avoid the kids. She is to be trained in personal protection. Thanks for any helpful advice.
I had the same problem with my Mal. He is very extreme. I grabbed him by the scruff and shook while giving him the no command. I did this at 6 months old. After about 3 days he got the hint. Now he is 10 month old and he plays fetch with my 5 year old and runs around with him without trying to bite him. My 1 year old he just sniffs and follows around when he has food <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
