I was wondering if someone could recommend some videos and books for training a explosive detection dog. I'm want to research the matter thoroughly before I commit to buying and training a new dog. I've some experience w/ explosives and propellants. I feel I can train or at least lay some ground work for a detection dog.
How/where will you be able to work the dog? I was under the impression that there wasn't much available for civilian bomb dog handlers. Is that not true?
the pipe dream is to sell/donate to our local law enforcement. they wanted my Max to "interview" but he's our furry child. the way they explained to me is that they take "green dogs" and train them. I'm still in the research stage.
