In the video Ed says that sit command should be given when starting focus training and in the "training the sit" section bernhard mentions that when he starts focus training that no comman d is given. Just the arm raise with the prey item and the dog can sit, stand, or platz. Does it matter much?
Well, after five seminars with Bernhard, I'd say that the vast majority of the dogs autonatically go into the sit position when you lift the ball up for focus during the drive building. That of course is after the dog is taught that jumping does not bring success.
Does it matter much - I don't think so, you'll need the dog to be able to acheive focus in whatever position it may be in for training down the line, so there's not really a bad position to train for focus.
