The lady who worked at the humane society had brought 11 dogs home. You guys said: “I want to make it clear to any new dog trainers who read about keeping 11 dogs as house dogs (not in a kennel) has some form of mental problem.”
There is no recognized psychological problem which has as a symptom keeping multiple dogs. There is a movement calling for the recognition of an animal hording disorder but: (1) it envisions an extreme number of animals (2) they must also fail to provide minimal standards of nutrition, sanitation and veterinary care, and (3) they must fail to act on the deteriorating condition of the animals. Here is a great link on this: http://www.mhsource.com/pt/p000425.html
There was no indication that the lady you guys insulted actually had any kind of mental problem.
Anthony, I don't know what kind of experience you have but anyone who keeps 11 dogs in a home has a mental problem. I don't need anyone to define a "NAME" for this behavior, in fact one does not need to have to have a "NAME" for it to know that this is rediculous.
This women was trying to offer adivce to the members of this board. Anyone that does this in context of having 11 house dogs is not going to do that on my list.
If you have a problem with this - send me on a private post. I am closing this threat.
