Two dogs can be disappointing if you compare them, thinking that they will be the same. The same can be true of humans.
I find that having two or more dogs entertaining and interesting I like to compare the haves with have nots. But this can be disappointing like when I was trying to agitate my mixed female and drew a big"?". Why is she not reacting like the Male GSD. Until I found out from a assoicated that worked with this type of breed, its quirks and that you had to draw it out, now she loves to work. As a matter of fact she is like the Marines, when attempting new feats, she first in line charging through trying to prove she can do it. The GSD sits and waits after understanding does it more precise and on command. Like the jump she does it when she feels like it, he does it everytime he asked. But she will jump every other barrier we encounter on her own.
I find that some of my other friends fall into this same trap, one dog is German bred Name Gerboton, the other is a show bred name Bonehead, both are Rotties.
And then my aquaintance with the working bred Sable shepard and the Am Show Shepard comparing them and finding the obvious, they are so different. I think you can probably find better working abilities in a mix breed then a Am show breed.
