I have just got 3 GSD's 2, long coats that are very sweet and social(suitable for pets, obedience and maybe agility) and a working type black bitch who has impressed upon me the value of these good sound bodied and minded types.
You lot here seem to have in favour the type i am interested in looking into for future breeding but i have a problem, everything i research and look into is based in Germany and USA. What i ask of you "old Pros" is can you suggest what is good in Aust and why do these select few stand out to you?
As i am sure you understand i have been given so may opinions from breeders here but i find that they all rave about the lines that they have in their kennels and as far as i am concerned this is is bias and not based on what these lines produce as far as body and mind go.
The bitch i have is not liked by the show types as she is not huge and lanky, i got her at 5months and is now 9 months and she has never been out of proportion, she is no going to be big but she can work!!!! It is such a pleasure to train and handle even when in a spastic puppy mood you can still get her attention with ease and direct her attention to what you want.
So please, if you can give me some unbias advice it will help me greatly, not to mention preventing ANOTHER ignorant future breeder!!!!!!If your going to do something do it properly!!!!!
