Can anyone help me to register two mal pups I have.
The sire is AKC but the bitch is a import from Holland, Ihave her KNPV scoresheet and her lineage.
I do not want to neuter.
How old are the pups, and is the bitch registered in Holland? Do you have the actual registration papers for the bitch in hand?
Did the breeder apply for AKC registration of the litter?
If you are shooting for AKC registration, you'll need to submit here foreign registration papers to the AKC, get her registered as an AKC dog, and then apply for registration of the litter.
These actions are all time sensitive, and document intensive ( believe me, I know - my male GSD didn't get his final papers until he was 18 months of age, and the breeder had applied for registration right after the litter was born )
The AKC website has a fairly concise article for the steps that you'll need to take on their website. Do the steps in the exact order that they lay out, and then be prepared for a long wait.....
Will, the pups are 9 months, the breeder would file anything I prepare, AKC or otherwise.
Here is the paperwork I got. I tracked the handler to this breeder and I believe this is the bloodline to this dog listed also.
Lisa,
Nice detective work - and excellent job posting the paperwork, you did better in one post then a lot of breeders do on an entire site. My hat's off to ya!
Looks like the sire is no problem, paperwork is perfect.
For the dam, that's a pretty meticulous pedigree. I realize that the folks overseas still do pedigree's on the non-registered dogs, but I think with the detail shown on that pedigree, you have a higher chance that the dog was registered than I previously thought.
First piece of advice - try and register the pups now with AKC. Yes, it'll be rejected since the bitch's paperwork will be missing, but once you actually start the paperwork, the clocks stops ticking - and gives you time to research the dam and see if her breeder ( or the person who sold her to you ) had registered her at some time in the past. It's always possible that she was registered by the original breeder, and then the next owner didn't care about paperwork ( very common in KNPV ).
So there's still hope. I really hope it works out for you!
And if it does work out, someday post the steps that you did to make it happen - it's be a *great* learning tool for all of us!
