The article states: "The breeders have worked to soften the breed's temperment." Dobe Club Pres. quote: "The breed used to have a well-deserved reputation for being sharp...The modern Doberman is much less sharp than its predecessor. This toning down was necessary for the Doberman to fit into today's society." Kind of like what happened to the american bred gsd, heh?

Crime worldwide is much higher than it was in the 70's, police dept's can't get enough working dogs. If the Pres. wanted a dog for "today's society" (God, what a breed destroying quote) why didn't he resign and bought a poodle?
