Hi! I'm new to the Leerburg web board, so thought I'd introduce myself and my dogs! My husband Ron and I have been training and working dogs for a combined total of 35 years! He's much older than me, and therefore has more experience!
Ron had bred Dobermanns before I met him, but after a couple litters, he let the lines go. He had one old male from his second mating when I met him and I fell in love! I had never spent any amount of time with the breed, but was always impressed by their presence! Shortly after we met Ron rescued a 14 month old Giant Schnauzer he called Zeus from a very abusive situation. When we got together our family was Ron and I, Zeus and my 4 year old cat Groucho! What a crew!
When I finally decided it was time to get my own dog, I really wanted a Dobermann! Ron was keen to breed them again, even though the Giants really intrigued him. I really wanted to get involved in SAR, so wanted my dog to come from working lines! My demon in disguise arrived as a beautiful 8 week old black and tan bitch I called Raven. She had great bloodlines and lots of enthusiasm! We worked our way through TD, TDX and at three years old Raven was RCMP certified in Search and Rescue! I decided that it was time for a litter of pups, and began with health tests. Imagine my devastation when her hip x-rays showed "mild dysplasia"! It was a valuable lesson, we ALWAYS prelim at one year now! Anyway, shortly after we purchased Raven, we added her half sister Chyna to our home. Chyna is our foundation bitch, producing our A-litter with Bingo Germania. She is almost 7 and is a grandmother and is expecting to be again x 2!! We made the big leap after Chyna to import from Germany, Blitz von der Burgstaette arrived summer 2000! She is the dam of our B-litter, and hopefully our C-litter soon!
Our goals for our Dobermanns is and has always been health, temperament, work ethic and beauty. Anyway, if you would like more details about our lines and future plans, you are welcome to email me privately! Since we also breed Giant Schnauzers, I will be posting a similar message on that board!
I look forward to reading more about other's experiences with our great breed!
Tammy!
