This is an early inquiry regarding a puppy as I have a 12-year old female at this time. I have been seriously considering one of the German lines. I totally agree that the American lines do not produce sound nerves. My concern is would I be getting too much dog for myself. I train in obedience mainly and some agility.
Patricia, in my opinion you would do well by investing in a good working bloodline.

You're starting out with a pup will eliminate most problems and you're dog should grow up being well socialized. I don't see a problem. I would suggest that you buy a female if all you're doing is obedience and agility. Easier to control.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, we would be getting a female. I have one male already that has his CD title in AKC, UKC, & World Wide & we are working on his open exercises. It is great fun.
