Another member in my club asked me to find information for him on Meckolars (sp). The furthest I've gotten is to think they are one in the same with Dutches. Is this correct? Is a Meckolar a breed? Supposedly they are used by the police in Europe?

yeah, you're right, it's just another name for Mali-nuts.
actually Mechelaar is Flemish for the breed known to us as Belgian Malinois.
It is what they are referred to in their "native land"
the reason we use the word Malinois is because of a town (Malin I think).. Kinda like Rottweilers and Rottweil. Malinois is French (hence the silent "s") as Belgium and France are neighbors, and both compete in Ringsports with "Malinois"..
anyway, that is the gist.. I probably got some minute detail wrong, but I am about to run out of my office to beat Isabell!!!
Thanks guys & gals. Everytime I tried searching on the net, I could'nt get anywhere, but Malinois and Dutch Sheperd kept coming up. I just made the jum to Dutch because of the way he was describing the dog.
