Hi,
Does anyone know what traits Xento v.d. Maineiche is known to pass to his progeny? Has anyone done any linebreedings on Xento v.d. Maineiche or seen any dogs that were linebred on him?
Does anyone know anything about his temperament? Are there very many progeny from him in the U.S.?
Thanks for the info! I took a look at your site and your dogs are beautiful. It looks like the upcoming breeding will be interesting.
What type of drives are Xento progeny known for? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the line? Thanks again.
Thanks! The one I'm really excited about is the breeding to Pirol v. Portnersberg in the fall. This one will be 3-5 Fero, 4-5 Harro and 4-5 Xento. I've seen progeny out of this dog, so far VERY nice. He will be in the states for a year in the fall from Germany. I know Ed doesn't like Fero or Lord Here is a little more of the original article discussing various kennels in Germany. The Kennels: What dogs show a marked influence within the higher ranking kennels? I'm hoping for the bone that Pirol has been producing, hoping for the better part of Fero with the agression and tracking ability. The biddability thur Harro, then adding the hardness of Xento. I had an awesome Sch3 female that was 2-4 on Fero and 3-3 on Harro who's temperment was outstanding. Couldn't ask for a better dog. I will be keeping a female out of that litter with Pirol and if I like the results will be repeating it with him before he returns to Germany. I like the current breeding I'm doing with Isa and Gus since with linebreeding on Driggon will calm down somewhat but am really looking forward to the one with Pirol.
So far out of his puppies I've seen (one female came over from Germany for a wk, other male is here with a PSD trainer) both are uniform. Excellent prey drive. Puppy has been biting since day one. Currently on puppy rag, only a couple months old, both very confident.
Are you going to post pictures of the puppies on your web site? I'll keep an eye out for the litters. I took a look at Pirol and Drigon. Both look great. I especially like Drigon.
I'm a novice. I had seen one or two grandpups of Xento v.d. Maineiche that I really liked, so I was just wondering what traits he was thought to pass to his progeny. One granddaughter specifically, someone had mentioned had a very stable temperament and is very balanced.
I am specifically interested to know if his progeny tend to possess more balanced drives or if they tend to be more extreme. Also, what lines where best to breed with this bloodline. I was wondering if linebreeding on him has ever led to any handler aggression. I know that it is really complicated and that the dams add a lot, but am just trying to get a general picture. As a novice, I don't want to get into any bloodlines/dogs that I couldn't handle, so I'm researching to find dogs that are known to be very stable, consistent, balanced, and not so extreme.
Thanks for all the info! And patience
