Hi everyone I don't post very often but I read everyday.Well I just got a 5-6 month old sable male from a rescue.Well I have had him only for 2 weeks and he is GREAT <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ..My schutzhund trainer said he is going to do good in SchH with alittle work.He said he is Very confident,he will walk on ANYTHING,Not scared of any livestock barks and charges at them.Has good ball and play drives, and will chase ANYTHING that moves. He also barks up a storm when he sees other dogs working and won't shutup..He is on the burlap rag for now and when he bites it he shakes it like he is trying to kill it..Is that a good thing? My trainer said wait a month or so so he can get settled in and bonded before doing anything really..I was curious as to if I can send a picture of him to someone and they could possibly see if he is from working lines? He has a straight back and his agulation is not extreme like most show line dogs are so was just curious. Is picture posting allowed on this board? Please let me know
thanks

I don't think pictures are allowed to go thru on this board, but the fact that he's sable and shows decent drives makes it more likely that he's got working blood in his background. The shaking of the rag isn't desirable in the sport world because dogs that shake or thrash inevitably end up shaking themselves off a full grip; it will end up shallower when he's finished shaking, particularly when he is on a hard sleeve. The goal for full points is full and CALM. Talk to your trainer and make sure they are paying attention to that right from the start, as it is a habit which can be a pain to break if they are rewarded for it thru the early work.
Kane is lovely. How lucky he is to have ended up with you, Where did he come from? I am sure you will be posting about his progress and his challenges. I will be eager to hear all about him.
