Gary, unfortunately I don't have much info for you. I recently spoke with Steve from Regalhaus Kennels here in Australia. Steve is using a dog called Filu von der Schwarzen Lagune. This dog has many geefacker dogs in its pedigree.Steve also said and I quote "Filu is 100% West German. Geefacker are very old lines and their dogs are more real. Filu is quite dominant and serious".
I don't know enough about geefacker lines to comment on how they normally produce or perform in sport or service though. Good luck with your search
Gary, I’ve known two males out of Geefacker lines, and they were related--sire and son. The sire was imported by someone I knew as a competition dog--didn’t go very far, though, and didn’t pass his breed survey for being oversized. His son is about 6 yrs old now, a large very dark sable, who had minimal bite training and is basically a companion dog who shares a household with 8 other dogs. Both seem to be very sociable. I would not consider either of them particularly serious or dominant, just nice stable dogs. Donno if it helps...
I know where vom geefacker dogs come from as I am a partner of that breed.
I'm more than surprised to find a topic on vom geefacker dogs.
As we dont have a website or any other publicity ( we dont want our breed as commercial product)
nevertheless several of our dogs are even known on this board.
The pius grandson where Mr Gary Beka refers to is typical for the breed and as far as I can imagine that is rather a smal dog as most our breed.
If any more information is needed I will gladly provide it
** Sorre for the tricky english I try to do better next time
